Today, I had the opportunity to shadow Matthew Bruno again for my ISM class, and it was another invaluable experience. I was able to observe him diagnose and treat 20 patients, each with a variety of conditions. This gave me a well-rounded understanding of how a physician approaches patient care in a real-world setting. What made the day even more memorable was that I got to witness him perform a small surgery, which was particularly interesting and relevant to my final project on skin cancer.

During the consultations, I was able to observe how Matthew conducted thorough skin exams, checking for any suspicious moles or lesions. He carefully explained his thought process to the patients, discussing the importance of early detection and prevention, which is key in skin cancer treatment. In the operating room, I saw firsthand how a minor skin cancer removal procedure is performed, which will be crucial information for my project. The precision and care required in the surgery reinforced the importance of proper diagnosis and timely intervention in treating skin cancer. Overall, this experience deepened my understanding of both the medical field and the specific issues related to skin cancer, which will be extremely valuable for my final product.
