Overall, ISM has been off to a great start. We began the class by discovering a topic of interest. I knew that, by going into the program, I was interested in dermatology. I decided to narrow this topic down to diseases associated with dermatology in hopes of possibly coming up with a cure or discovering new information about unknown diseases. Our first research assessment challenged me to discover different ways diseases can be discovered in dermatology. I found that Artificial intelligence can be implemented into the dermatology field to help dermatologists discover diseases quickly. After learning more from this article, I concluded that AI could be an interesting topic to learn more about how it can be implemented in the dermatology field. I do question the cons of Artificial Intelligence, and I want to know how more research could make this technology more effective. Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks, I can learn more about Artificial intelligence in the dermatology field while also discovering other ways to identify diseases. I think it is also important to learn more about all the different types of diseases to enhance my knowledge of dermatology. For my second research assessment, I hope to find research of different diseases in dermatology and possibly more journals on the effects of AI in the dermatology field.
