Update on Research

Through these past few weeks in ISM, I have had the opportunity to interview a laser technician. I learned a lot from this interview. I got to learn about her job duties, how many patients she sees, the lasers she uses, and the diseases she treats. This was a very informational interview. My next goal in ISM is to obtain another research interview with a physician assistant. I hope to learn from this physician assistant their knowledge of laser therapy and other ways to treat common diseases that they see. I also wish to ask them about their background and how they got to where they are today. 

This week in ISM, I have been working on my research speech. This speech will encompass all the research I have done in ISM so far and give an overview of what I have learned. In my speech, I described what dermatology is, the diseases in dermatology, the treatment of diseases, and laser therapy. In my speech, I mainly focused on the interview I conducted and how that interview provided information for my original work, educating me on laser therapy. Moving forward in ISM, I plan to focus on my original work proposal and obtain another interview to enhance my dermatology and laser therapy knowledge.
